Adamson Metrix Enclosure Nominated for a 2008 TEC Award

The TEC Awards is the world?s most prestigious forum for recognizing outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product innovation. Adamson Metrix Ultra Compact Line Array Enclosure received a nomination for Outstanding Technical Achievement in the category of Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker Technology.

Becoming one of only 6 products in the world to receive a nomination in the category is a remarkable achievement. The category is one of only two technical achievement categories dedicated to loudspeakers within the awards (studio monitors being the other), and covers speakers from the tiniest conventional installation speakers to large format touring Line Arrays.

The Adamson Metrix Ultra Compact Line Source Enclosure is an extremely versatile, high-output enclosure suitable for small to medium permanent installations in houses of worship, theatres and nightclubs, as well for the main system in small to medium touring applications. A newly designed Adamson ND8-ML 8.5? Kevlar neodymium mid-low frequency driver is optimized for this 2-way enclosure, and is paired with a 1.4? HF (3 inch diaphragm) compression driver, mounted on Adamson?s patented HF wave-shaping chamber. The exceptionally adaptable Metrix Series is available in touring and installation versions and can be stacked on subs or frame, flown with subs on top or behind the main array, flown symmetrically in stereo using custom symmetrical plates, pole-mounted with subs in cardioid or in regular mode for use as a 3-way system among other inventive ways depending on the application. The Metrix-t encompasses Adamson?s patented AIR? rigging system. For venues looking for a permanent option, the system can be purchased as the Metrix-i, featuring the brand new EIR? ?Enclosed Installation Rigging? system designed for the economically concerned customer, looking for a top of the line sound system.

The 24th Annual TEC Awards will be held on the second night of the Audio Engineering Society Convention (AES) in San Francisco. The awards ceremony is expected to draw more than 700 top sound and music professionals from around the world.

TEC AWARDS - The nominees and winners of the TEC Awards are determined through a two-step process. Initial selections are made by a Nominating Panel made up of about 150 prominent professionals from all areas of the audio industry. Eligible nominees are those projects or products that, in the opinion of the Nominating Panel, represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields. The final voting for the TEC Awards is the responsibility of the roughly 42,000 BPA-qualified Mix subscribers, who vote via a secure online ballot during the month of August
